euroean adventure… all systems go.

So here we are at the beginning of something awesome.

We left the rain in Vancouver to find rain in Edinburgh. But I am not complaining!

Upon out arrival we hopped on to the bus and went straight to our hostel, which feels far more like a home. Welcomed by John and Richard, the owners of Art House Hostel, we found ourselves in a very auspicious place.

John lived in Vancouver for a year and it seems Richards parents may have come from the same town in China as my grandparents… Will have to confirm with my pa.

Okay, this is getting lengthy on the ol’ iPod so here goes the list runn down of last night and today so far:

Get to know John, dinner at Indian place on corner, back to art house, help John with dishes, jam sesh with John, go to bed, wake upreally early, eat smoked salmon, quinoa, maple syrup, hot chocolate and tea, go for mini walk, come back and decifde on action plan, go to market and eat amazing lunch while chatting to English woman, decide it is necessary to meet Jamie Oliver, go to botanical gardens, decide greenhouse is a must-have, eat at little cafe, back to hostel and chill.

And here we are! My feet are up. The accident is definitely taking its toll, but I am managing. Hiking poles are a major help.

Off to Newcastle tomorrow by train, more adventures to come!!!
