surrounded.
Ah! I am surrounded by Aussies…
Emerging from my little island world I am about to enter a fully western but completely not world…
A big city filled with funny sounding people who eat (and enjoy) vegemite… Albeit very nice people, I am concerned about the number of mullets that are here.
I wonder if the atmosphere will reflect the hairstyle of choice. I was hoping to get...

Well the training is wrapped up and Three days of paradise are behind me.
It was a strange ending to the training. It happened so fast. But it didn’t feel like it in the usual way… If you can even day there is a usual way for things ending quickly.
Although I sincerely enjoyed every second of it, I was definitely ready for it to wrap up. So much information. I just need some...

flying by.
It’s amazing. Week 2 is almost done. Time is just whizzing by.
It’s strange though. This being In Bali, but not really sure if I feel like I am in Bali or not.
every day I wake up before the sun has risen and I go home to bed long after it has set. And in between…?

Ganesus.
Christianity has been in India for a very long time. But there has never been a ‘take over’.
The beauty of it is their world (or rather universal) view of one God many forms.
When the Christian missionaries came to India the Indians just said “oh wonderful” and put Jesus’ picture right next to Ganesh.
first star I see tonight.
I don’t want to get repetitive… But meditation tonight… Wow.
I saw my first firefly my first meditation, and tonight i saw a whole galaxy’s worth.
I have imagined fireflies when listening to ambient meditation ‘music’ with the sounds of a pristine evening.
Never thought I would be so lucky to experience it first hand.
Mmm…

meditation
Perhaps I’m going deeper than I think… There are four layers. The layer before atman, enlightenment, is the causal layer, like deep sleep. But there is no awareness there.
The key to enlightenment is bringing consciousness there.
Karma is stored in the causal layer though, that’s why it is so dark. I need to clean off my lightbulb so I can get there :)
Here I come.
the things that remain.
It seems almost everything has changed since I got here.
But one wonderful thing I have managed to hold on to…
A cookie for breakfast!
and so begins a dance withe the divine.
Tea with the group has left me thirsty for more…
This training is going to be “transformational”.
I can just feel it!
Doesn’t hurt that I will be able to connect with my roots practicing and looking out over the rice paddies ;)
Side note: when eating a tropical fruit salad, squeeze lime juice on it.
and what brings you here.
I sit here in Hong Kong watching everyone board my flight to Bali. As I walked on to the plane I hear a lady say to a friend “oh, Lindsay is going to Bali, we need to go.” I detect a tone of irritation.
For some reason, this comment has stirred my first feelings of excitement.
I am going to Bali!
I know nothing about Indonesia, let alone the island of Bali… What do...

big WORKSHOP WEEKEND.
Anusara Certified teacher Patrick Creelman in town this week!
Inner body bright, here we go!
the body.
Pure frustration.
I have never been seriously injured until last May. And it sucks. Sure I have had injuries, but they healed within a month and it was back at it.
Not so lucky this time.
I just want to heal. What else is there to do?
Or is that just it? Perhaps it is the doing nothing that will heal me.
But who has the time for nothing this day and age?

Yyoga, I got a bone to pick with you.
Well not really… but in you’re advertising you’re bragging about all these fancy infrared saunas at your studios.
Okay that’s cool, it’s obviously working… as I sat shoulder to shoulder with 8 other girls and one sweaty man bending over in the corner who shall remain unnamed… Geordie… of a hot, very hot, tiny 8...

aveda aveda aveda.
Alright, let’s talk Aveda.
I have pretty miffed at Aveda. I have always thought of them as a more natural, earthy, maybe even organic option for hair and body products. But on a recent shopping trip to find a fragrance (a known carcinogen) free shampoo and conditioner and a quick glimpse at the ingredient list of the Shampure Shampoo, I discovered how natural, earthy, and most certianly...

seal you later.
Out at Wycliffe Park yesterday going for a rehabilitating swim. Little did I know it would turn in to, hands down, one of the best experiences of my life.
Jumped in to the water, icy cold, moving fast to get the blood moving I stayed near the shallow end until Geordie got back. As soon as he was though, out to the depths it was for me. Swimming fast and hard I took a moment to pause and...

Alright men. Strip the egos and shed some facial hair on a serious situation.
It’s November, or should I say Movember, and thousands of men across the globe are growing the most coveted facial hair there is… the moustache.
This is a wonderful month long fundraising event that began in Australia over a couple of beers to raise money and awareness for prostate cancer. Since...

daily gratitude.
It would be difficult for me to list all the things I am grateful for. I am a very, very lucky person. But I probably still have something to learn about showing my gratitude. And so, today, on Thanksgiving, I am going to set an intention of taking a lesson from my mom.
More than five years ago now (approximately 21% of my life ago) I moved to Vancouver (well, Burnaby at first, but let’s...

2012... no problem.
It just hit me.
The Mayans were wiped out by white man. Their calendar was most likely an on going creation. It’s pretty hard to predict the the infinite future all in one day.
So it’s obvious!
The Mayan calendar ends in 2012 because they weren’t around anymore to continue predicting.
Duh.

Here we are another day in the country of 40 shades of green. Standing outside a shop jacking what seems to be the one wireless spot in the city of Galway.
Standing here in our matching wooly jumpers typing away on our iPod/iPhones… We make quite the trio!
We are staying with an amazing “yoga singer” near Galway! What an amazing experience!

We have arrived!
Sitting in a little 7-11-like cafe in Dublin. Admittedly, probably not my first choice to be in a new city, but the excitement for the new adventure well outweighs the down side.
Yesterday was another auspicious day filled with many unplanned delights as we made our from bishop’s stortford to Dublin.
After a lovely breakfast and many laughs at the clegg’s it was...
Oh universe, you never cease to amaze me
Another amazing day behind me.
Wow, I can hardly believe this trip is actually happening.
John Friend is amazing. Seriously… A miracle worker.
And if I ever had any doubt about the universe having order, this trip was all I needed to set me straight.
One example: walking to the park in Copenhagen Geordie and I first discuss an island off the coast of Denmark that one of his students...

At the Ecovillage in Denmark!
AMAZING!!!
White sand beach a short 10 minute bike ride away… mind you Geordie is doing the biking and I am sitting in a cart.
I am healing, but there is still a ways to go. Decided best not to push the bike riding.
Did a lot of weeding today to help out with the beets.
What an amazing place to be!
Oh and lots of windmills as one might expect.
euroean adventure... all systems go.
So here we are at the beginning of something awesome.
We left the rain in Vancouver to find rain in Edinburgh. But I am not complaining!
Upon out arrival we hopped on to the bus and went straight to our hostel, which feels far more like a home. Welcomed by John and Richard, the owners of Art House Hostel, we found ourselves in a very auspicious place.
John lived in Vancouver for a year and...

keepin it real.
In my daily browse of archdaily I was super excited to see this compost shed on the top of the page.
Compost is great, you’re reducing waste, and giving back to the planet. Doesn’t get much better than that.
But let’s face it. Compost piles are not always the most attractive things to look at.
But this… THIS is a piece of art! Love, love, love it! Now that’s...

yes, a new logo is necessary to work with a new colour scheme.

a beautiful day in the neighbourhood.
The air is crisp and the sun is strong.
Apparently last night there was another amazing storm out here on the westcoast.
I slept through it.
The intensity of the storm has rolled in a beautiful day. The perfect weather to bike to work in. The air is cool and fresh on my face, but the sun warms me through the moment I sit still.
A bird is chirping in the office. I wonder what kind of...

dainty as a daisy.
I feel so lovely and delicate today. I am like the princess from The Princess and the Pea.
I am so sensitive that a tiny little rock wedged in the heel of my boot was about to drive me loopy with discomfort.
Sometimes it’s not easy being a princess.

nuts about nuts.
I just raved for a long time about nuts… and some how it got deleted.
Long story short I have developed a love for nuts. All nuts (except hazel nuts, which I am quite certain I would love, but I am equally certain that I am mildly allergic to them).
The love all began with a simple cookie. The best cookie I have eaten. EVER.
It was a lovely day in Tofino, we went for the fish tacos...

Before gushing about how proud I am of all our Canadian athletes I am going to address the thought that is obviously on the forefront of everyone’s mind about the mens curling team.
Shouldn’t John Morris and Ben Hebert be on the bobsled track?
These guys are seriously huge. Now I’m not the most avid curling watcher, I admit, but since when did curling become a beef show???
